2025
The Inspired Dance Film Festival (IDFF) is Australia’s premier international celebration of dance on film, showcasing our collective passion for innovation, creativity, and global collaboration. As we approach our 6th annual season, IDFF25 promises an extraordinary experience in Sydney, where filmmakers from around the world gather to share their talents.
This year, we’re thrilled to include our youth dance filmmakers, aged 13 to 17. By nurturing the next generation of talent, we provide young filmmakers and schools with an international stage to explore and celebrate the fusion of movement and film. Through this initiative, we foster cultural exchange and shine a spotlight on emerging perspectives in dance on film.
Inclusivity remains at the heart of who we are, with award categories that honor Indigenous filmmakers, cultural performances, LGBTQI+ works, and films featuring dancers with disabilities. By championing these diverse voices, we ensure that everyone’s stories are celebrated.
Our festival offers more than just screenings—it’s a vibrant hub of learning and dialogue. From curated in-person screenings to masterclasses and panel discussions with industry experts, we create opportunities for connection and growth. Additionally, all officially selected films are accessible via our Digital Suite, reaching audiences worldwide.
We cap off the festival with our spectacular Gala Screening and Awards Ceremony, where we honor outstanding contributions to dance filmmaking. IDFF25 is more than just a festival—it’s a global platform that celebrates diversity, creativity, and the universal language of dance.
